Planning Commission
The Planning and Zoning Commission is a volunteer board of Mounds View residents charged with studying and recommending to the City Council ways in which to carry out the Municipal Code and related regulations. In this capacity, the Commission has the responsibility to maintain and update the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (the 2020-40 Comp Plan is on the Left Navigation); to act upon variance requests; to conduct public hearings and make recommendations to the City Council on zoning classifications, re-zonings, plats, lot splits, planned unit development and conditional use permits. The Commission receives citizen input, solicits all available information on an issue and recommends appropriate action to the City Council for final action. The Commission consists of seven members appointed by the City Council. Planning Commission meetings are held in the City Council Chambers on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, at 6:00 pm.
